Cassava/Potato chaat


This is a lovely chaat made either with cassava (mogo) or boiled potatoes and brought together with tamarind chutney.

Ingredients

1lb frozen cassava/yucca or 1lb potatoes
1 tsp salt
Oil for deep frying
4oz readymade chevda or sev mumra
1 cup tamarind chutney
2oz finely sliced white/red/spring onions
2 tbs sliced fresh green coriander

Method
  1. Boil the potatoes or cassava until cooked through.
  2. Cool and cut into 1inch cubes, deep fry until brown and remove into a serving dish.
  3. Add the tamarind sauce, mix once and add the chevda or sev mamra.
  4. Sprinkle the onions and coriander.
Serve warm.
