I am Sabiha Khokhar – a busy working mother, wife, magistrate, published author and passionate cook. Despite having many interests in life, my greatest joy is FOOD!
As a child in Kenya, some of my earliest and fondest memories are of following my mother around in the kitchen and learning from her the joys of creating wonderful food. She is a very talented cook, and my father supported her enthusiastically, so I grew up with my brothers in a home where family mealtimes were a very important part of life.
Today, my own buzzing kitchen is the focal point of our home and is always a happy, warm and bustling place. Old and new recipes have been tested, created and perfected for my husband, my three grown-up children and hundreds of welcome (and usually hungry!) visitors, who over the years have shared with me their own ingredients, methods and passion for food.
My varied travels and wide circle of friends are reflected in the origin of the recipes you will find on this website. There are some new recipes and some old favourites – from Pakistan, India and Kenya of course, but also from most of the alphabet from Afghanistan to Zanzibar!
